We're revisiting this post from last year...because 1) it's a goodie and 2) it's a great one to reflect on as a whole vs The Best Selling Prints of Summer. The selection of art for one's art is a personal decision, but it's really cool to see that so many of us have something that's special to us (as an individual) in common with so many other people that we've never met. Art is a unifier that way, and it's pretty darn cool!

My absolute favorite part of my job is seeing a photo that I shot up on the wall in someone’s home. Every single day, my number one goal is to create beautiful, whimsical, fun artwork that will inspire a little something in everyone who has a piece. Whether it’s a much-needed moment of Zen, a brief getaway, or a reminder of a special place or moment, my hope is that my work will spark something in all of you! I also have some pretty special memories linked to each piece that you see here on my website. Every photo reminds me of where I was when I shot it, the people I met while I was there, and the feelings I experienced. So today I wanted to do something fun, and count down the top 10 best selling Gray Malin prints in my shop. The fact that so many of you have been moved by these pieces and have them hanging in your homes means more to me than I can ever express. So as a token of gratitude, I thought I would take you through these 10 photos and share a memory from when I shot them.

1.Dawn

Dawn print from photographer Gray Malin

I shot my Prada Marfa series in the early days of my photography career, so the fact that this photo is my #1 best selling print of all time means the world to me. To me, this series evokes the question, “What is art all about?” I snapped this photo right at dawn, when the sun was rising, and the colors of the sky were their most vibrant. It makes me so happy that you all love this photo as much as I do. And if you’re a fan of Dawnhere are a few more of my favorites from this series: Prada Marfa series by Gray Malin

2.Two Cowboys

Two Cowboys by photographer Gray Malin

Another one of my prints from the Prada Marfa series has taken the #2 spot! The juxtaposition of these two cowboys against this Prada store speaks volumes. Not to mention that the sky was looking incredible, and gave this photo the perfect backdrop. Here are a few more from that series that you might like, too. Prada Marfa series by Gray Malin

3.Coogee Beach Horizontal

Coogee Beach Horizontal by Gray Malin

I fell in love with Australia when I traveled there, and my goal in the series that I shot there was so let everyone experience the beauty and magic of the land down under. This specific beach appears three times in my top 10 countdown, and I’m not surprised. Coogee Beach is not only beautiful, but also has the most incredible energy. The beach is literally alive with surfers, swimmers and sunbathers, and it warms my heart that so many of you have a little piece of this magic hanging in your home. If you’re looking for something similar to my Coogee Beach Horizontal print, here a few of my other favorites that remind me of Coogee. Check out the latest and greatest prints from Gray Malin

4.I AM BUSY

Get your own

You all have good taste!! This is one of my all-time favorites too. I shot I AM BUSY in the Carribean, where the water is picturesque and it’s always swimsuitseason. There are so many reasons why I love this shot… The reflection of the balloons in the water, the crystal clear water, the bright blue horizon. What I’m most proud of this shot (and really this applies to every one of my photographs) is that there was no photoshop involved. It wasn’t easy, but those mylar balloons are real and are in the exact right position. It’s special when everything comes together to create the perfect photo, which is exactly what happened with this one. Here are a few more photos from my Up and Away series that I’m particularly fond of: Find your favorite print from photographer Gray Malin

You know that feeling when you work so hard, and finally, at the last minute it all comes together? That was exactly how I felt when I shot Coogee Wave. The colors of the water and the line of the wave are so soothing to me. Not to mention the Aussie swimmers dotting the ocean. 7. Central Park Lawn

Central Park Lawn by Gray Malin

I’ll never complain about traveling abroad, but there’s something equally as special about photographing people and places in my home country. There are so many things that I love about New York City, and Central Park happens to be my favorite spot there. To me, this photo captures the essence of taking a breath, slowing down, and relaxing on a picnic blanket in the city that never sleeps. And if you like this one, I think you’ll LOVE these… Park prints via Gray Malin

8. Welcome to the Parker

Welcome to the Parker by Gray Malin

My trip to the Parker hotel in Palm Springs last year was magical. I was able to photograph one of my favorite hotels in the world, along with a handful of the most majestic creatures that I’ve ever seen. My series at the Parker is all about whimsy and playfulness, so it brings me a huge amount of joy that 'Welcome to the Parker'made the top 10 list. Fun fact: this giraffe’s name was Tiny! He was beautiful, and he lent himself to some of my favorite shots from that series. Stay tuned because I shot my second series at the Parker a couple months ago, and it will be released this summer. Can. Not. Wait! These three shots below are my other favorites from my whimsical trip to the Parker. Scenes at the sunny Parker Hotel by Gray Malin

9.Positano Beach Vertical

The Amalfi Coast in Italy is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve visited. In fact, two other shots, Positano Beach and Positano Vista, are both sold out! This shot of Positano along with its horizontal versionfrom my La Dolce Vita series is one of my favorite shots from that trip. It's also many of your favorites, too so it's not surprising that it makesthe top 10 list! It's also sold out, but here is a great alternative. The town built into the hill is breathtaking, as are the yellow and orange umbrellas lining the beach. What I’d give to be back there on that beach right now… Here are a few of my other favorite coastlines: Coastal prints by photographer Gray Malin

So, there they are, the Top 10...but there's actually 1 more that can't go without being mentioned. Llamas Black & White Balloons is one of my BEST SELLERS! So much so that, not only is it sold out but people also love the acrylic traythat it inspired.
