Travel Guide: Best Beaches of Greece

Hi Everyone,

It's been about 4 years since I was last in Greece, and I'm definitely reminiscing on all of the beautiful beaches this history filled country holds. Since summer is in full swing, and I'm sure some of you have Greece on your 'must go' list, I thought it'd be fun to highlight some of the top 'must go' beaches while traveling through Greece. Seeing that their are 6000 islands, 227 of which are inhabited, not to mention beaches on the main land, I've kept my list to my top 3.

MYKONOS

One of many islesoff the coast, Mykonos beaches are known for their summer party atmosphere and lots of fun night time activities in addition to the day time beach lounging. If you're all about the nightlife while on vacation, the best time to go is July and August. As for the rest of the year, there's still plenty to enjoy on the "off season."

Water sports, youthful people, softsand, sun, and libations are everywhere you look in Mykonos. After a day in the sun, and perhaps before kicking the evening off into full gear, hit up Scorpios for a fun dinner and sunset.

SANTORINI

Santorini has some of the most interestingbeaches in Greece. They aren’t really the soft white sand variety as most are composed of volcanic sand and are red, black, or grey.

Santorini truly hassome of the most natural beauty in the country, in my opinion. To conclude your day in this slice of heaven, I recommend heading into the village and taking in the sunset at the magical Grace Hotel.

PAROS

Paros has some of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the Greek islands. Paros beaches are knownfor their sparkling water and relaxing atmosphere, attracting locals and tourists alike.

One of the most stunning as well as best beaches to spend the day in Paros is Kolymbithres Beach, as the water isn't too deep so it's easy for a quick cool off dip. The white rock formations make it especially scenic for a day on the sand.

What are some of your favorite beaches in Greece? I really just scratched the surface on everything there is to see and do here, but one thing is for sure - when in Greece, you simply must sit back and enjoy. This is not a place to rush, it's a place to savor. To see more from my Greek Isles series, look no further than right here.

Cheers,

xx
