Hi Everyone!
Today is the day! ESCAPE has officially been released into the world and I couldn't be more excited for you all to see it. In my first book,BEACHES, I focused solely on my aerial beach photos from all over the world. Whereas with ESCAPE, I had the opportunity to share a larger assortment of my work including categories like snow, surf, pools, parks and isles from over 22 countries. Overall, my favorite part of putting together ESCAPE was storytelling alongside the images for people to better grasp and connect with my artwork—I really enjoyed digging up old journal entries while also looking through my archive to showcase behind the scenes images.
If you've been following along for a while - THANK YOU! - and then for those of you are are new - WELCOME! Thefoundation of the Gray Malin brand is the desire to every day a getaway and each body of artwork I produce is meant to transport the viewer to another place or state of mind. Therefore, the inspiration behind ESCAPE was bringing together projects I have photographed around the world into one large vacation for your coffee table.
To celebrate, I'll be taking the ESCAPE show on the road! Kicking off my book tour, I'll be at Fred Segal on Sunset in Los Angeles from 6:30 - 8:30 PM today. This one is extra fun as we'll also be celebrating my first ever immersive brick and mortar shopping experience with The Getaway Room, which is located within The Collective at Fred Segal. From there, I'll be make stops in Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Atlanta and Dallas this month as well as a Black Friday signing at Neiman Marcus in the King of Prussia mall.
