Out of Office: Travel Guide to My 5 Favorite Beaches Around The World

Hi Everyone,

With summer in full swing, I’ve been dreaming of some of my all-time favorite beaches (and escaping to the ones close by when I can!). While my family is lucky enough to call Southern California—and its hundreds of miles of coastline—home, there are so many beautiful beaches around the world that it felt fitting to round up some of my favorites here. So if you need a little inspiration for your next beach getaway, check out these stunning sandy destinations, and then head to the shop to dive into even more prints. I hope these sandy shores inspire you as much as they do me!

1. St. Tropez

It’s tough to pick a favorite when it comes to the beaches along the French Riviera, but the striped awnings of the St. Tropez beach clubs will always hover near the top for me. The best place to start is the Plage de Pampelonne, a gorgeous stretch of sand that spans about three miles and has over 40 private and public beaches. Don’t forget to make a stop at Tahiti Beach Club for an afternoon drink and some spectacular views.

2. Karon Beach, Thailand

To be honest, every single beach I photographed in Thailand was absolutely stunning—have you ever seen clearer waters? Karon Beach is a popular destination with families, couples, and anyone looking for a quiet day of relaxation on the shores of these tranquil turquoise waves, and if you’re visiting Phuket for the first time, this is a great place to start.

3. Waikiki, Hawaii

It would be pretty hard to include a roundup of stunning beaches without including at least one Hawaiian destination. Waikiki is home to one of the best Mai Tais I’ve tried, as well as some seriously beautiful pink beaches, and it’s worth a stop on any trip to the Hawaiian islands. While I’ll always love a shot of a packed beach, there’s something so magical about being able to capture this peaceful stretch of sand, sans tourists.

4. Harbour Island, The Bahamas

There is so much natural beauty in the Bahamas, and the pristine sand beaches and abundant palm trees make this an ideal getaway for pure relaxation. I love Harbour Island for an extra dose of privacy, as this remote getaway is only accessible by water taxi. Make sure to check out the complete travel guide to Harbour Island here (and don’t forget your swimsuit!).

5. Cape Town, South Africa

Last but not least, Cape Town, South Africa is home to some of the most beautiful waves I’ve ever seen. This shot from Muizenberg Beach perfectly encapsulates this colorful shoreline (which perfectly reflects the colorful architecture in this destination), from the bright beach huts to the sea-green waves. This beach also has relatively shallow water, which makes it a great place to explore with your family.

What is your all-time favorite beach? Here’s to many sunny days ahead!

Cheers,

xx Gray
