Ready to be inspired? When designing a space, there are many spots that sometimes get overlooked in the design process. One of these spots is bookshelves and built-ins. Styling shelves is much easier said than done and lucky for you, today we have Meg White from Meg White Interiors giving us her styling tips and sharing how she incorporated a piece of art into the space! Keep scrolling for all her tips…

My name Is Meg White and I am from and live in Nashville, TN. I fell in love with antiques and all things design at an early age because my aunt was a decorator and always included my mother and I in her shopping adventures for clients!

How would you define your interior design style?

I have a modern perspective on traditional design, and I enjoy creating layered, authentic spaces, that reflect the client's personality. Incorporating antiques and vintage pieces cultivates a captivating and bespoke space. Mixed with lush colorful textiles and fresh schemes, I strive to create inviting, serene and functional spaces with acquired pieces and pops of bold color to make each project intricate.

What drew you to The Breakers Porte Cochere from Gray Malin in Palm Beach?

I just recently went to Palm Beach with a dear friend for the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse. While we were there, we were able to soak in all the architecture and design the city had to offer! I completely fell in love! We spent a lovely evening having dinner at The Breakers. So when I saw this photo, I immediately knew I had to have it!

What did you pick out as the most important elements of the print to incorporate into the space?

I was drawn to the light, airy and overall summertime feel of this photograph and knew it would look fabulous against the dark moody wall color in my library!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who wants to design a space and start with art?

Art is a very personal experience. I believe you find something that speaks to you or evokes a mood or memory and you will always find a place for it in your home!
