Shades of Gray: My New Years Resolutions Q&A

by

While I have loved taking advantage of all that the holiday season has to offer (talk about the best drinks, treats, and projects… what is there not to love?), I am equally excited to ring in the New Year! Can you believe it’s already that time? This past year has flown by, but I always love the beginning of a new year—it allows me the opportunity to start fresh and make new goals that may have gotten away from me in the craziness of the previous year, and helps me aspire to better myself in many ways. 2016 held many exciting opportunities, product launches, and personal victories, and I can only hope that 2017 tops it. To help me stay on track and challenge myself this upcoming year, I put together a few New Year’s Resolution Q&A’s to focus my goals, and I hope it can be something that you can benefit from and apply to your New Year, too! My first goal is to keep this checklist within sight all year long so I can continually be reminded of the things I hope to accomplish. With that said, keep reading to see what goals I have my sights set on this year…

THE QUESTIONS

MY ANSWERS

ONE: Something I Want to Master

My fitness routine. I’m proud to say I’ve been pretty good at sticking to a healthy diet and workout schedule these past several months, but—like many of us—I am guilty of falling off of the fitness wagon a bit this holiday season (oops!), and I’m going to make 2017 my year to be consistent in my fitness routine, no matter what.

TWO: A Bad Habit I Hope to Break

Biting my nails. Old habits die hard, but I’m convinced that 2017 will be my year to break this one!

THREE: Somewhere I’d Like to Visit

New Zealand! As I’ve mentioned before, New Zealand along with Alaska and Easter Island are just a few on my bucket list, and I hope to check one or two of those destinations off in 2017.

FOUR: A Dish I Want to Learn to Cook

Sushi. As far as food goes, sushi is quite the art form and I would love to try my hand at it. Who knows, maybe this coming year I’ll be serving homemade sushi at my soirees!

FIVE: People I’d Like to Spend More Time With

My friends back home in Dallas! My best guy friend and best girl friend live in Dallas and I would love to get some quality time with them this year. Long-distance friendships can be hard, but I love that when we get together it’s like no time has passed at all. Regardless, I hope to make more frequent visits to see them this year!

SIX: A Luxury I’d Like to Treat Myself to More Often

Quiet nights at home. Spending time relaxing at home with my husband, Jeff, and our dog, Stella, is truly my favorite place to be, and amidst the craziness of running a business and working together, it seems that we don’t get to do it enough. This coming year, I hope to make more time to kick back and relax in our favorite place.

SEVEN: Something I Will Try to Cut Back On

Wine! I have been trying to switch over to low-calorie cocktails like a tequila soda instead of a scrumptious glass of red wine, and I’m determined to make wine a “treat” in 2017, rather than my go-to.

EIGHT: A New Talent I Want to Learn

How to sail. I’ve always been a fan of sailing (as a passenger), and this year I would love to learn how to brave the waves! Read Gray Malin's 2017 New Year's Resolutions There’s no doubt that I’ll be making short- and long-term goals throughout the year as they come up, but I know that this Q&A will give me just the boost I need to get the New Year started right. What are your answers to my New Years resolutions Q&A? I hope you’ll save my questionnaire and fill it out with your own goals so you can get the absolute most out of 2017. Here’s to the New Year and a fresh start… Cheers! Xx GM Photos: Gray Malin
