Hi Everyone,

Like many of you, I try to stay fit by trying to eat well and be consistent with myworkout routine. To keep me motivated in between eating and working out, though I also love following healthy lifestyle gurus like Rachael of Rachael’s Good Eats, who’s home is coincidently our featured tour today. I will let her elaborate, but it’s fair to say that Rachael has racked up quite a multifaceted career for her glowing youthful self!

Before we go in and meet her, you should know that it’s FREE FRAMING right now, so if you like what you see – don’t wait to get Rachael’s look. Minimalist Interior Design | Beach Aerial Artwork

Rachael, will you please tell us a little about yourself - where you live, what you like to do for fun...?

Hey everyone! My name is Rachael DeVaux and I currently live in Seattle. I’m a registered dietitian, personal trainer, and huge foodie. I really enjoy working out and cooking, but also more recently discovered a huge passion for traveling :)

Excellent...and I know you juggle a few things in your life, couldyou give us an overview about what your life as an entrepreneur is all about?

Absolutely! My first venture into the business world was my Instagram account, @rachaelsgoodeats, which has evolved into a full-time career. It was and still is a creative outlet for me to show people that living a healthy lifestyle can be simple and enjoyable! From the beginning, I’ve wanted my recipes to be accessible to everyone, which is why I continue to share both the ingredients and directions in the captions of my photos, as well as on my website. Through developing relationships with brands and building up a following, I’ve been able to apply my knowledge of health & fitness and turn it into a home-based business that has allowed me opportunities I never imagined possible! I’m able to reach so many more people through this platform than I ever could practicing in a more traditional setting.

I also helped open Toast Society Cafe in Las Vegas, along with my sister and third partner earlier this Spring. It’s a gourmet toast cafe - as the name implies - where we also serve superfood smoothies, matcha lattes (obviously) & coffee. It’s amazing! I’m hoping to one day expand and bring it up to the Seattle area.

Wow! When did you launch?

I started my @rachaelsgoodeats Instagram account in 2015 as a senior in college, and Toast Society just launched at the end of May!

We would love to know more about your style when it comes to decorating your home/dream space...

I’m somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to my home. My boyfriend and I moved into our first apartment together in Seattle last September, and I must admit, it’s a small space - 717 square feet. We’ve had to really maximize the space we do have, which has been challenging, but also very rewarding after seeing the finished product. I’d describe my style as mid-century modern with a homey feel.

When I first discovered your work,I was so drawn to the clean, minimalist aesthetic, where the photographs just really have the opportunity to shine in any room. Not to mention, my inspiration for travel is basically through the roof.

I'm a big proponent of filling your wall, when it comes to maximizing space with prominently placed artwork. What made you select the Icebergs Pool Aerial print?

My first trip to Australia was earlier this year in February, where I traveled to Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney over the course of 10 days. I celebrated my 25th birthday there and I’ve been dreaming about it every day since! My favorite spot was the iconic Bondi Icebergs in Sydney, so having this print in my living room makes me feel like I’m still there and I couldn’t be happier! ...already planning to go back in 2020 for my 27th birthday to explore the Gold Coast!

Design wise, it’s the perfect size and addition for the large space above our couch. Ithas completelyelevated the entire space. What was once a big open space is now the focal point of the entire apartment.

I love that your reasoning is both sentimental and functional. Best of both worlds! Now getting back to business, what are your biggest challenges as an entrepreneur?

Going through college, I never really saw myself going the conventional route of working as a dietitian in a hospital or school district setting. Ever since I was young, I aspired to work for myself, and to me, there was no better time to take that leap than right out of school. It was a struggle getting started as no one teaches you how to properly build a business from the ground up, so there’s been a lot of trial and error figuring things out on my own. But, it’s such a good feeling to have the privilege of making a living doing what I love. Further, the freedom to do that from anywhere in the world. It’s more of a risk to go out on your own because it’s never a guaranteed steady paycheck. You’ve got to hustle. But for me, it’s so worth it. It never really feels like work because I truly enjoy what I do.

I couldn't agree more, Rachael! Thanks so much for sharing, congrats on all of your success, thus farand cheers to many more!
