It literally brings the beach into our home, and it’s impossible to look at without being reminded of happy times. Design-wise, I loved that it had a pop of color of the ocean but had prominently neutral tones to match the rest of the space. Oh, and it’s massive and fits our ginormous wall perfectly. "

I’ve always been obsessed with spaces that remind me of the beach—being near the ocean is definitely my happy place, so I surround myself with calming shades of blues and sand, driftwood details, and my collection of coral and shells decorate bookshelves and coffee tables. I’m definitely drawn to any organic materials, and love layering different neutral shades with lots of textural interest. Someday I hope to actually have a beach house, but until then, I’m doing everything I can to channel those ocean vibes in my home here in Austin!

"When it comes to decorating my own home it’s very similar to my own personal style. Minimalistic, monochromatic, airy, and a dash of glam. Because my work life is so crazy, when I come home I want to feel relaxed and at peace. I think that is why I love sticking to neutral tones because it clears my mind and allows me to breathe, but I do like adding fun colorful elements with the accessories!"
