Tips & Tricks: How to Translate Fashion’s Rainbow Trend Into Your Interiors

If you’ve been to any clothing store this summer, you’ve probably seen rainbows on everything from espadrilles to sundresses to denim jackets. This fun and colorful motif has officially taken over our wardrobes, but it hasn’t quite made its way into our homes… yet. Before you start imagining a ROYGBIV explosion, we’re taking these bold primary colors and giving them a sophisticated spin. Rather than looking for stripes alone, consider this your chance to add more color to your home in general, and build from there. Pair a bright stand mixer in your kitchen with multicolored ceramic bowls and add in a fun fine art print… you get the picture. Before long, you’ll have built your own stylish rainbow décor collection.

Keep scrolling to see how we translated this summer’s rainbow trend into sophisticated home décor…

Indoor-Outdoor Living

  1. Rainbow Square Print | 2. Velvet Couch | 3. Chevron Lamp | 4. Adirondack Chair | 5. Striped Pillow | 6. Faux Lemon Tree | 7. Chair | 8. Vases

If the idea of decking your house out in bright primary colors isn’t quite up your alley, don’t worry. Pair a bold blue couch with a bright striped print, or scatter multicolored ceramic vases for a room-wide rainbow. Plants are another great way to add in an extra pop of color, and they get bonus points if they feature colorful fruits or flowers, like this faux lemon tree. If you’re looking for a way to bring the rainbow outside, we love the idea of collecting these Adirondack chairs in every shade, for a bold visual statement.

Kitchen

  1. Le Creuset Pot | 2. Plates | 3. Bowls | 4. Rainbow Balloons Print | 5. Color Swatch Art | 6. Glasses | 7. Barstool | 8. Stand Mixer

The kitchen is one of the best places to bring the rainbow into your décor. From plates to glasses to bowls, there are endless ways to brighten up your basics. Consider taking the trend a step further and looking for appliances, like this mixer in bold hues. Whether you love cooking or your kitchen is mostly for show, you’ll feel happier walking into a room full of pops of color. And just because it’s the kitchen doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add art. This cheery balloon print is a fun way to bring all the colors together.

Bedroom

  1. Rainbow Cowboy Hats Print | 2. Rug | 3. Planter | 4. Bed | 5. Pillow | 6. Bench | 7. Nightstand

Last but not least, even the most neutral bedrooms can benefit from a splash of color. While you may want to stay away from vivid reds or fluorescent yellows in this space (you want to be able to sleep after all!) a deep green bed or even a pop of orange on an accent bench can add an unexpected twist on your typical bedroom décor. We love this Prada Marfa print for bedrooms since it combines soothing neutral hues with bright pops of color (those cowboy hats!).
