Home/Room Tour: Erica of P.S. I Made This

by

Hi Everyone,

Really excited about today's Home Decor feature, as it's both decor inspiration and educational, as it's with the Queen of DIY herself, Erica of P.S. - I Made This. She's not only going to show us inside her home and tell us about her print selection, but we're also going to walk through an easy step by step guide on hanging framed artwork. Before we get started, Erica, will you please tell us a little about yourself? OH and by the way, her print is on SALE right now.

"Yes, of course.I'm an Los Angeles transplant from NYC! My world is about inspiring others to craft the life they want. Sometimes that means through decorating, cooking, entertaining, or by simply helping them to go after their dream job. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than helping others. It's truly how the business of P.S.- I Made This was started 8 years ago. On my down time, you can usually find me cooking, playing golf or tennis, vintage shopping, or diving into a movie on the couch under a snuggly blanket."

Thank you! Now, lets get started, shall we?

Step I

Hanging Framed Artwork - Step by Step Guide

Ideally with a friend or two (for visual help), measure the space where the new framed print will be going, then hold it up at eye level to determine placement. Using painters tape or a pencil, mark at least one side of where the two D-ringswill hit on the wall, then use the measuring tape again to make sure it's level. *If it's a Gray Malin small frame, you'll only need to mark the middle, rather than both sides.

Step II

Using the nails that are provided in your Gray Malin shipment, hammer in the nails at their determined location marks.

Place the left and right rings along the nails, then double check your workwith a level.

Sit back and enjoy your handy work. So easy, right? Framing can sometimes feel a bit daunting but when it arrives at your door ready to be hung, all you really need is a hammer and a little bit of time tofollow thesesteps. Now, lets hear more about Erica's approach to home decor and why she chose this particular print for her guest bedroom. What inspired you to choose this Gray Malin print?

"I have never been to Italy (I know… hush, hush!) and have been drawn to their epic coastlines and colors forever. Perhaps this print will foreshadow a future trip, that was the hope. I firmly believe in visualizing things you want for your future- so thank you Gray for helping me do so… and making my guest bedroom pop!"

"Everything is about an elevated coziness for me. I want my guests (and of course myself) to always feel like the space is comfortable in a way that you would actually want to be stuck inside all day. My recent coastal move to LA from NYC had inspired a new vibe of warmth and airiness. I love layering elements from sisal and jute rugs with indigo and rustic materials from natural wood to marble surfaces. Im all about mixing high and low together!"

What about the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with? (How does it fit in with your lifestyle?)

"I love Gray's spirit, energy, and love for beautiful places and things, which you get right away. Being a fan before we became friends IRL was how it went down. A lot of my creative crushes have become real friends who I admire and respect. After all, his lifestyle is all about fun and color… the two things that resonate with me the most!"
