Did you know that I have released either a new series or added new images to a current series at a minimum of once a month this year? If you’re surprised reading that, you’re not alone, as I was a bit shocked, too…and I was the one doing it. Time flies when you're having fun, though! Starting with January, let’s take a look at which print was most popular from each month's new release.
JANUARY – GRAY MALIN AT THE CORAL CASINO
Since its release at the begining of the year, the lovely ladies of Beach Ball Splash have been a consumate favorite.With the stunning setting and playful tone, this image certainly makes me want to take a dip. FEBRUARY - BON VOYAGE
With its inaugural release in 2016, Bon Voyage continues to capture attention with its whimsical wink to pop culture. In its third installment, TheCity Girl held her signature cosmopolitan high and became the immediate first choice amongst fans of this series.
MARCH - MIAMI & PALM BEACH AERIALS
DareI say it? À la Plage is one series that will never stop growing, as there are too many beach destinations that simply must be included in it. I have photographed Miami a few times before but never its luxurious neighborPalm Beach, until earlierthis year. Just in time for Spring Break, I released about 15 new beach aerials from this shoot. There was something about The Swimming Pool, Palm Beach that mesmerized me. As it turns out, I was not alone.
APRIL - GRAY MALIN AT THE PARKER
Ah yes, the Parker series. Released over the course of three years and three separate installments, and a children's book inspired by it to boot, it's fair to say there are numerous favorites from this series. The fact that many are sold out only further proves that point. For this April's release, though it was all about partying with this gentle giant at the Parker.
MAY - THAILAND AERIALS
Fresh from my three week adventure to Thailand, I was so excited to share the stunning aerials I captured during the trip. I feel that theseaerials of Thailand offered a breath of fresh air to theÀ la Plageseries. Prior to this trip,I really had notexploredan Asian country as in-depth I was able to with Thailand, let alone photograph it. The color of the water combined with the unique boats in Thailand really stand out amongst the beachy crowd. As for the favorite, it was non-other than Phi Phi Island Boats, Thailand.
JUNE - CÔTE d'AZUR
Similar to my popular series La Dolce Vita, which documents the landscape of the Italian Coast, I released my ode to the French Riviera this June. Côte d'Azur is a series of images shot along this luxurious coastline and includes images that exude quintessential European glamour. From Tahiti Beach to Plage Keller, Antibes...the stand out from this release was shot along the rocky beach of Nice.
JULY - PRADA MARFA
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to travel with all of Team GM to Marfa, Texas. This was extremely special for me as my Prada Marfa series is the first of my work to ever gain notoriety. A lot has changed since that first release, so to create new images alongside my growing team was a momentous occasion. A couple months later, we released 10 new images into the series and the response wasoverwhelmingly positive. As for the most popular of the new release, it was this surreal image of 4 cowboys doing a little window shopping.
AUGUST - RHODE ISLAND AERIALS
Heading to the coast, I released brand new aerials of Rhode Island's classic coastlinein August. This release of beach aerials really resonated with so many of you! It was very exciting to see how well these new aerials did right out of the gate. The most popular print from this release, though isn't actually of a beach persay. Rather, it is of an iconic location to take in the view and a lobster roll atop a beautiful green lawn.
SEPTEMBER - FAR FAR AWAY
Another third installment this year, my latest release into Far Far Away continued in the series play of color and of course, major llama drama. If ever there was a series to learn more about how it was created, it is this one, so if you haven't already - Behind the Scenes, Far Far Away...
OCTOBER - GRAY MALIN AT THE BEVERLY HILLS HOTEL
Needless to say, the release of Gray Malin at The Beverly Hills Hotel was a major moment for me, both as an artist and as a lover of this iconic hotel. It was such a dream come true to create this series, and the positive response to it has only been the cherry on top. It was a close race but the winner of 'Most Popular' from this series is this inviting entrance on the red carpet.
NOVEMBER - GRAY MALIN X ROCKEFELLER CENTER TREE
Catching up to this month, my final release of the year has been a complete smash hit! Since its launch a mere 2 weeks ago, the shared love of the Rockefeller Center Tree has rung true, as we've seen numerous orders come in for this new print. This limited edition signed print is available now to help you celebrate year around. Curious to see how it looks styled in a room? DECEMBER - COASTAL HOLIDAY
