If you’re as excited as we are about the holidays, then you’re probably already musing over all the little details—how you’re going to coordinate the gifts under your tree, what treats you’re going to mix up this season, and how to find that perfect gift for your loved one. While we’ve already covered a couple of these topics on the blog, today we’re moving along in our planning, and sharing something that we are finding increasingly important in our gift-giving process. First comes finding that ever-so-fitting gift, then comes finding the perfect wrapping paper (*ahem* we just released some amazing options you won’t want to miss!), and last comes our focus today: fun and creative ways to top your gift wrap.
While what’s inside is, of course, a vital part of gift-giving, we think that the presentation of that gift is equally as important to your loved ones (not to mention fun for you, too). When it comes to topping your gift with that extra touch to make it special, the sky is the limit. But in case you need some ideas, keep scrolling and we’ll get you started…
Add an Ornament
What’s more fitting for the holidays than topping your gift with a cute little ornament? Not only will it be an immediately functional accessory for your recipient since they can add it to their tree, but it is also something they will be able to keep for years and be reminded of the extra effort you took to make their gift special and personal. Besides, with the new release of this little guy, we can’t deny the fact that any excuse to use him is fine by us.
Play on a Theme
Is your gift perfectly curated for the hostess with the mostest? Top your gift with some cute mixing spoons or a chic bottle opener for her bar. Or is it geared toward your friend you can’t pull away from the slopes? Top their gift with some cozy mittens. The point is, playing on the theme of your gift is an easy way to add a little extra flair to the exterior, and make it really stand out that you did your homework before doing your holiday shopping.
Bring in Natural Elements
Lastly, adding natural elements to our gift wrap is one of our favorite ways to spruce it up (pun intended). Top your gift with a little sprig from a spruce tree, a cotton branch, or even a few cinnamon sticks. Adding greenery and natural elements to your gift is the perfect way to liven it up (literally) and make it feel just a bit more cozy. The best part about adding foliage, berries, or blooms to your gift is that it is a technique that is fitting for any holiday or occasion, year round. After the holidays, simply top your gifts with something that more appropriate to the season, like a full, fresh flower, or some eucalyptus leaves. Simple as that!
